Brown University in the United States seeks a Director of Creative and Artistic Administration for the Department of Africana Studies / Rites and Reason Theatre. This role connects the creative space to resources, guiding the development of a diverse annual season and nurturing collaborations across the African Diaspora.

The position requires leading production development, artist recruitment, and cross-department coordination, with emphasis on scholarly and community impact.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years of related experience.
• Substantive professional experience in theatrical production or new play development and leadership collaboration with artists.
• Experience with new work development and devised theatre processes; ability to provide dramaturgical feedback.
• Strong relationships in the arts world, especially with Black theatre, dance, and/or music artists and scholars in the Diaspora.

Mansioni

• Lead development and administration of the Theatre's annual season, including productions, world premieres, readings, devised and collaborative projects, and events.
• Identify and recruit artists; shepherd productions from concept through opening night; build audiences and institutional partnerships.
• Collaborate with the Chair and Academic Department Manager on planning and scheduling of events and budget planning.
