Job summary

Panthera Grid Partners is seeking a Director of Construction to lead pre-construction and construction efforts for utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects. The role requires deep knowledge of construction management, risk mitigation, contract handling, and leadership of cross-functional teams to deliver projects from development to completion.

The position is hybrid in Houston, TX, with four days in the office and Fridays remote.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in utility-scale solar PV with 8+ years in construction or related field.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional project teams and strong communication skills.
• Experience reviewing EPC contracts, change orders, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated project teams across pre-construction to final completion of solar/BESS projects.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Development, and Business Development to ensure smooth transitions.
• Develop construction schedules and budgets; manage EPC RFPs and contractor pricing.
• Negotiate key commercial terms and ensure alignment with project documents (PPA, ISA, IA).
• Coach and mentor project management staff; manage multiple deadlines and vendors.
