The Opportunity

A leading U.S. engineering and construction organization is looking to appoint a Director of Construction to support the continued growth of its advanced facilities business across the Southeast.

This individual will provide senior construction leadership across large-scale data center, mission critical, life sciences and advanced manufacturing projects, with responsibility for project execution, operational performance, client relationships, safety, financial performance and team development.

The role is ideal for someone who has led complex, technically demanding facilities and understands how to deliver large projects at speed without compromising safety, quality or commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead construction operations across data center, mission critical, life sciences and advanced manufacturing projects
  • Provide senior oversight across multiple large-scale projects and client programs
  • Manage performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost and profitability
  • Lead and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Construction Managers and field leadership
  • Partner closely with engineering, procurement, project controls and commissioning teams
  • Oversee complex MEP, electrical, mechanical, process and critical infrastructure packages
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients, subcontractors and industry partners
  • Support pursuit strategy, estimating, preconstruction and major project opportunities
  • Review project risk, forecasting, budgets, staffing and resource requirements

Ideal Background
  • 15+ years of construction experience within complex commercial or industrial facilities
  • Strong leadership experience across data centers, mission critical, life sciences and/or advanced manufacturing
  • Proven track record delivering large, technically complex projects
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects, teams and regional operations
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, commissioning, project controls, contracts and commercial performance
  • Experience working with sophisticated owners, developers and end users
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing construction teams
