The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics is seeking a Director of Compliance to support the Football program with day-to-day compliance, recruiting oversight, and policy interpretations across NCAA, Big 12, and institutional rules.

You will educate staff and student-athletes on compliance matters, monitor season and eligibility requirements, and collaborate with campus partners to resolve potential violations and maintain thorough documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five years of Division I FBS Compliance experience or NCAA National Office compliance experience in Enforcement or AMA.
  • Strong computer knowledge; demonstrated knowledge of CA and LSDBi.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with a diverse group including: students, parents, coaches, and administrators in a professional manner.
  • Experience using compliance monitoring software (ARMS, Teamworks, Front Rush, Jump Forward).
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed during peak game and recruiting seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary compliance liaison for Football.
  • Monitor and help administer all Football recruiting activities, including official and unofficial visits, recruiting game day events, recruiting communications, evaluations, camps and clinics, and recruiting documentation.
  • Provide timely NCAA, CSC, Big 12 Conference, and institutional rules interpretations to Football coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
  • Support the Assistant Athletic Director of Eligibility with all Football related eligibility matters.
  • Review and monitor Football awards and benefits, NIL disclosures, promotional activities, and other student-athlete participation matters.
  • Collaborate with Football operations, recruiting, academic support, sports medicine, financial aid, and other campus partners to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, documenting, and resolving potential NCAA, Big 12 Conference, CSC, and institutional violations involving the Football program.
  • Manages rules education and serves as lead for creating and producing all rules educational material efforts delivered to student-athletes, coaches, staff and third-parties.
  • Manages, approves and maintains documentation related to playing and practice season limitations for Football including CARA logs and season schedule approval through institutional process.
  • Coordinate/assist the Assistant Director of Compliance with student athlete awards process for Football and other sports, as assigned.
  • Assist with onboarding Football student-athletes on all applicable software systems (Opendorse, NILGo, TW. ARMS);
  • Prepare yearly NCAA and Big 12 Staff Certifications for Kansas Football coaches and staff.
  • Present regular rules education sessions to Football coaches, student-athletes and assigned departmental units to reduce the likelihood of violations;
  • Assist in the updating, distribution, and review of all University of Kansas, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA required forms for all student-athletes (i.e. NCAA student-athlete statement, NCAA drug testing consent form, KU drug testing consent form, Big 12 Conference drug testing consent form, summer contact form, etc.);
  • Attend department/outreach functions as a representative of the Compliance staff;
  • Assist in monitoring activities for Football practices and home and away Football contests;
  • Act as a secondary liaison for all matters of NCAA, CSC, Big 12 Compliance for the Baseball and Men’s and Women’s Basketball Programs;
  • Notify Associate AD of Compliance of any possible Big 12 Conference or NCAA Level I and II violations;
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Associate AD of Compliance, or the Athletic Director’s designee.

Job description

Position Summary:

This compliance position will serve as the primary compliance contact for the Football program and provide comprehensive day-to-day compliance support related to recruiting, eligibility, playing and practice seasons, awards and benefits, amateurism, NIL-related education, and NCAA, CSC, Big 12 Conference, and institutional rules. This position will coordinate rules education efforts for Football student-athletes, coaches and athletic department staff members. The position will also assist with all day-to-day matters pertaining to monitoring NCAA, CSC, Big 12 and institutional policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

Required Qualifications for Assistant AD:
  • Meet the Required Qualifications for a Director of Compliance AND have 3 years or more experience working as the primary compliance official for a Division 1 FBS football team with experience with football recruiting, football game day monitoring, eligibility certification, roster management, and playing and practice season monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications for Director of Compliance:
  • Demonstrated Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) football compliance experience;
  • Experience with football recruiting, football game day monitoring, eligibility certification, roster management, and playing and practice season monitoring.
