Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle is seeking a Deputy Executive Project Director to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering major capital projects from inception to closeout. You will direct, manage, and coordinate staff and activities within the Capital Delivery Department to meet performance KPIs, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 10 years in managing planning, design and/or construction of large, complex public transit projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple agencies.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, budgets, schedules and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Directs multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver project phases on time and within budget.
• Manage environmental, planning, design and construction contracts and activities; monitor status and issues.
• Lead discussions with executives, boards, and partners; present strategies and project status.
• Oversee contractor performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Coaches and develops staff; handles performance evaluations and staffing decisions.
