Job summary

City of Savannah seeks an experienced Commercial Refuse, Recycling & Litter Manager to lead the daily operations of its Commercial Refuse and Recycling Services Division. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement while developing a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate will have solid waste operations leadership experience, the ability to coach supervisors, and a track record of process improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
• Three years of experience in solid waste operations, transportation, or logistics with two years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Equivalent education, training, and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff; handles employee concerns and performance appraisals.
• Manages daily operations of Commercial Refuse and Recycling; oversees litter removal.
• Reviews revenue reports and coordinates to reduce delinquent accounts.
• Prepares monthly activity reports and divisional budget.
• Investigates and resolves customer concerns and complaints.
