Job description

Our client is a consumer products company undergoing an exciting next level growth transformation, positioning itself to achieve approximately $1B in revenue. We are searching for a Director of Commercial FP&A. This is a newly created, high-visibility role built around a value creation mandate, not a backfill. You will own the commercial band of the P&L, from net sales through profit contribution, and serve as the finance partner to senior sales and commercial leadership on pricing, customer investment, assortment, and trade.

This is a hands-on playing-coach position. You will lead a small team of managers and analysts while staying in the analysis yourself. You will work closely with the CFO and the executive team and have real influence on where the business invests as it scales.

What You Will Do
  • Lead commercial finance and own the net sales to profit contribution view across business units
  • Serve as the trusted finance thought partner to sales and retail leadership, with proactive, quantified recommendations on customers, promotions, pricing, and growth priorities
  • Partner with pricing and cost accounting on customer profitability and cost-to-serve analysis, and track realized price and mix against plan
  • Lead the commercial elements of the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly reporting, including variance analysis
  • Consolidate fragmented reporting into one source of truth, with one set of KPIs and Power BI dashboards for SKU, customer, and channel profitability
  • Hire, develop, and coach a team of managers and analysts
  • Evaluate investments, new products, customer programs, and acquisitions through modeling and scenario planning
  • Support ERP, reporting, and business intelligence enhancements
What You Bring
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience in FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, and business partnering
  • Consumer products (FMCG/CPG) experience, ideally with retail customer finance, including national account economics, promotion, and trade
  • Pricing, revenue management, and customer profitability experience
  • Advanced analytics and modeling skills and fluency with BI tools (Power BI preferred); SAP experience a plus
  • A playing-coach mindset: comfortable as an individual contributor while managing a team, curious about the “why,” and able to influence senior leaders through insight and credibility
  • A change-agent temperament, with measured risk-taking and decisiveness in a fast-moving environment
