Job summary

Clearwater is seeking a Director, Consulting, CMMC to lead and scale its cybersecurity consulting practice, directing strategy, delivery excellence, and team leadership for CMMC Level 2/3 assessments across the DIB. You will drive growth, governance, and client outcomes while shaping the practice’s vision and capabilities.

You will manage a national team, oversee engagements, partnerships with sales, and the development of repeatable methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (master's preferred)
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM) and CMMC-related certifications (e.g., LCCA, CCA) preferred but not required
• Deep expertise in: CMMC 2.0 framework; NIST SP 800-171 (and ideally 800-172)
• Experience delivering: Gap assessments; Mock assessments / audit simulations; Certification readiness programs
• Strong understanding of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and DoD compliance ecosystem
• Proven ability to lead consulting teams and manage complex client engagements
• Exceptional executive presence, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, ISO 27001, or other compliance frameworks preferred
• Strong business acumen with experience in practice building or P&L ownership

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale Clearwater’s CMMC consulting practice, setting strategy and KPIs
• Oversee client delivery and engagements to ensure quality and satisfaction
• Manage workforce planning, staffing models, and resource allocation to achieve utilization and profitability
• Collaborate with sales and marketing on go-to-market strategies
• Develop training pathways and certifications for team members
• Maintain accountability for billable utilization and retention
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning
