Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a Director of Clinical Support for a Medical Device company focused on Pediatric Ventricular Assist Devices for mechanical circulatory support. This on-site role is based in Houston, Texas and involves leading clinical operations across North America.

The successful candidate will manage a team of Clinical Specialists, develop policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive patient-focused training, data collection, and collaboration with implant centers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, preferred in medical devices.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular critical care and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Partnered with a Medical Device company specialized in Pediatric Ventricular Assist Devices for mechanical circulatory support - this therapy offers the ability to treat patients with uni- or biventricular support as they bridge recovery from transplantation.

Seeking a Director of Clinical Support based in Houston, Texas as it is an on-site role

The duties of Clinical Specialist Manager are to include but not limited to:

• Manage (4) Clinical Specialists in day to day activities.
• Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures and best practices
• Analyze operational and financial data to improve efficiency
• Support implementation of new clinical technologies and workflows
• Participate in strategic planning and organizational leadership meetings
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements
• Provide on-site clinical support with pre-implant, peri-implant, and post-implant training and support at implanting centers throughout North America. A significant amount of overnight travel should be expected.
• Perform patient follow-up and data collection related to outcomes, adverse events, and other patient related issues.
• Establish clinical and business relationships with hospital staff across all levels.
• Participate in sales and marketing activities as assigned within the limitations provided by the product approval status as granted by the FDA.
• Assist implanting sights with maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the development education materials
• Provide monthly report regarding all clinical activities

Qualifications:

• Five or more years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, prior medical device industry experience preferred
• Critical care experience in the cardiovascular space
• Understanding of regulatory compliance
• Experience managing clinical operations and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Education:

• Bachelor Degree of Nursing, Allied Health or related field (Masters Preferred)
