Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCUL) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the formulation, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for eye diseases using its proprietary bioresorbable hydrogel technology, ELUTYX. The company aims to reduce treatment complexity and become a leader in ophthalmology.

The Director of Clinical Supply Chain will oversee the planning, creation, implementation, and optimization of the clinical supply chain to ensure continuous and timely supply of clinical drugs for Ocular's programs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage end-to-end clinical supply chain, focusing on late-stage clinical programs.
  2. Conduct scenario planning, supply recommendations, and risk mitigation for high-stakes programs.
  3. Manage IRT systems, including design, testing, and data management, collaborating with Clinical Operations.
  4. Develop and implement global supply chain strategies.
  5. Oversee inventory, shipping, and third-party manufacturing/logistics.
  6. Manage packaging, labeling, and distribution activities across vendors and CMOs, developing KPIs and ensuring deliverables.
  7. Develop standardized processes and tools for clinical trial material planning, identifying supply risks.
  8. Partner with Clinical Operations to align assumptions and meet program demands.
  9. Lead cross-functional study teams, providing strategic input and process design.
  10. Manage direct reports within the supply chain team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in late-phase clinical development and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of GMP standards.
  • Experience with IRT systems in complex studies.
  • 10+ years in biotech/pharma industry in clinical supply chain roles.
  • Experience in inventory management, logistics, demand forecasting, and late-phase studies.
  • Strong global shipping, customs, and clinical labeling experience.
  • Experience with IRT specifications, URS, and UAT testing.
  • Experience in ophthalmology trials is a plus.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting a phase 3 product launch.
