- Salary: $130,000-160,000 annually
Summary
The Director of Clinical Operations leads the virtual eye care coaching team, providing strategic and operational oversight. Reporting to the VP, this role focuses on building leadership, developing talent, and achieving outcomes through performance metrics. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, inspirational leader with healthcare operations experience, especially in fast-paced, remote environments, with a background in ophthalmology and workforce planning.
Essential Functions
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop a high-performing virtual care coaching team, fostering engagement and accountability.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent work environment.
Performance & Operational Excellence
- Establish and manage KPIs and performance scorecards to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with Quality & Training teams to implement quality initiatives.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
Workforce Management & Capacity Planning
- Align team capacity with patient volume through workforce planning.
- Coordinate with Patient Enrollment for staffing needs.
Strategic Program Development
- Implement new service lines and care programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Support growth initiatives and prepare teams for new offerings.
Compliance & Clinical Support
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
- Forecast staffing needs and manage clinical headcount.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Represent the Care Management function at senior leadership meetings.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in healthcare operations leadership or senior management.
- Experience leading healthcare teams, implementing workflows, and using data for performance management.
- Ability to hire, mentor, and develop remote teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making, compliance, and documentation standards.
Preferred:
- MSW or LCSW credential.
- 5–10 years as a social worker with team management experience.
- Experience scaling healthcare teams in high-growth environments.
- Expertise in care plan development and community resource integration.
- Experience in eye care or virtual care models.
- Workforce management and program launch experience.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Home office or HIPAA-compliant workspace.
- Prolonged sitting and computer use.
- Ability to conduct virtual meetings with appropriate privacy and security.
