Job summary

Tri-Imaging Solutions is seeking a Director of Clinical Engineering Services to lead our Biomedical Services department across assigned hospital accounts. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or related field.
• CBET, CHTM, or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of biomedical equipment service experience in a hospital/healthcare environment.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience managing biomedical service teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Biomedical Services, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of medical equipment across facilities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop biomedical technicians and supervisors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, installations, calibrations, and regulatory testing for compliance.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, inventory, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
• Direct CMMS administration and equipment lifecycle management.
• Develop capital replacement strategies with hospital leadership.
• Monitor KPIs, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction with improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, regulatory, and company policies (ISO 13485).
• Build partnerships with clinical staff, physicians, leadership, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Represent department on hospital committees and escalation point for complex issues.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, and repair part sourcing with budget controls.
• Lead performance management including hiring, coaching, evaluations, and succession planning.
• Support growth, operational excellence, and client satisfaction through strategic planning.

Job description

The Director of Clinical Engineering Services provides leadership for our comprehensive Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) service program for assigned hospital account(s) with focus on optimizing equipment uptime, program compliance and ensuring safety/performance in a cost conscious, expeditious manner. May also supervise the work of biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs), imaging service engineers (ISEs), supervisors, and/or other management, technical, and assigned personnel. Ability to work with, train and supervise others. The Director of Biomedical Services functions in a team-based work environment and focuses on the achievement of team based requirements and goals.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide strategic leadership for the Biomedical Services department, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of medical equipment across assigned facilities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop biomedical technicians and supervisors, promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, installations, calibrations, and regulatory testing to ensure compliance with manufacturer, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Manage departmental operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, inventory, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
• Direct the administration and accuracy of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring timely documentation, reporting, and equipment lifecycle management.
• Develop and implement capital equipment replacement strategies in collaboration with hospital leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Monitor departmental performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), quality metrics, and customer satisfaction, implementing improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, regulatory client, and company policies, including ISO 13485 Quality Management System requirements.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with clinical staff, physicians, hospital leadership, vendors, and manufacturers to support exceptional customer service and equipment reliability.
• Represent the department on hospital committees and serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical and operational issues.
• Oversee purchasing activities, inventory management, and repair part sourcing while maintaining budgetary controls.
• Lead employee performance management, including hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, training, succession planning, and workforce development.
• Support business growth, operational excellence, and client satisfaction through strategic planning and continuous process improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CBET, CHTM, or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of biomedical equipment service experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing biomedical service teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance, repair, regulatory compliance, and healthcare technology management.
• Experience leading technical teams, managing budgets, and overseeing operational performance.
• Proficiency with CMMS software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of FDA, Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, ISO 13485, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
• Understanding of networking, medical device connectivity, and integrated healthcare technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with clinical leadership, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
