Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Director, Data Architect (P-track) to define and execute a long-term programming strategy for integration, automation, and analytics across therapeutic areas.

You will champion data standards, oversee multi-project delivery, and drive AI/ML initiatives with deep SME access to clinical data systems. The role requires hands-on review, SOP enforcement, workload management, and delivery of high-quality data solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with deep domain experience
• 8–10+ years in clinical data programming, data engineering, or related fields
• Proven leadership in large, multi-stakeholder programs and outsourcing partnerships

Responsibilities

• Define and execute long-term programming and reporting strategy for data integration, reporting, automation, and analytics across therapeutic areas
• Establish and improve programming standards, frameworks, and operating models for compliance and scalability
• Manage outsourced partners and ensure audit readiness and quality benchmarks
• Oversee delivery across complex studies/projects with regulatory compliance
• Provide SME in data engineering, data flow, and analytics strategies for clinical systems
