Job summary

GAI Consultants is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Jacksonville, Florida office to lead the Civil practice in northeast Florida. The role involves guiding civil engineering, planning, and related services for public infrastructure and private land development projects, and contributing to business growth in the region.

You will manage a team of project managers, engineers, and technicians, pursue new business, and collaborate across transportation, water, CEI, and planning disciplines

Qualifications

• 17+ years of experience; Florida experience preferred.
• BS or MS in Engineering; master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; reciprocity in multiple states.
• Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of project managers, engineers, and technicians for public infrastructure projects and/or private land development projects.
• Identify project pursuits, market clients, and manage pursuits including proposal and presentation preparation. Develop proposed scope, schedule, and fee for pursued projects and lead the interview team.
• Win new work by maintaining client relationships, monitoring opportunities, communicating regularly, and attending client events.
• Collaborate with transportation, water, CEI, planning, and landscape architecture/planning to market and deliver full-service project opportunities.
• Directly manage projects to meet deadlines and budgets while maintaining high client satisfaction.
• Travel approximately 15% to other offices for client meetings, project reviews, and business development.

Education
