Job summary

Sunrise Children's Services, Inc. is seeking a Director to oversee the administration of services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an inclusive preschool program. The role focuses on program quality, staffing, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will hold a Florida Director Credential, oversee curriculum alignment with national standards, and engage families and community partners to support kindergarten readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a licensed early childhood facility required
  • Required certifications must be current- Director Credential; VPK endorsement; VPK Emergent Literacy Requirement; and licensing required trainings
  • Successful completion of pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration of services for children with IDD and typically developing children in an inclusive preschool setting.
  • Lead staff and stakeholders to ensure the organization's mission and strategic plan are fulfilled.
  • Hire and supervise teachers to maintain state-mandated teacher-to-student ratios and ensure program quality.
  • Maintain current Florida Director Credentials and ensure accreditation standards remain in place.
  • Communicate effectively with families and staff and maintain records mandated by funding sources.

Leadership and Administration:Provides a safe, healthy, nurturing educational environment for children served by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the preschool to ensure it meets Sunrise Policies and Procedures and Early Childhood program standards.Maintains current Florida Director Credentials in good standing.Hires and supervises teachers to maintain state-mandated teacher to student ratios.Maintains national accreditation standards to sustain quality programming to meet the requirements set forth by funding and contractual requirements.Ensures planning for the children’s educational program and activities align with national evidence-based curriculum.Engages in ongoing communication with families and teachers to ensure children’s needs are being met.Maintains accurate records on children to include attendance, immunization, and physicals.Maintains all documentation and records mandated by state and federal funding and regulatory sources.Positively represents the organization and engages civic organizations, provider groups, donors, stakeholders, and the general public.Ensures the implementation and commitment to the organization's strategic plan.Financial Performance and Viability:Responsible for fiscal management and commitment to operating within the approved budget.Maintains accurate waiting list.Reviews and analyzes financial reports with finance team.Creates plans of action to address and improve performance.Works with the Executive Director and finance team to develop and implement growth strategies to provide maximum return on investment (ROI) with limited risk to the organization.Obtains feedback from stakeholders to identify the needs for growth opportunities.Communication:Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.Performs other duties as assignedSalary: $55,000.00SR75A7This position will remain open until filled.
