Director of Children’s Ministry (Full Time)

Cumming First UMC in Cumming, GA is looking for a full time Director of Children’s Ministry. This position oversees and implements wide ranging ministries for children and their families at a large multi-faceted church in growing northern suburb of Atlanta, on the shores of Lake Lanier.

The candidate will be responsible to develop a clearly defined vision and strategy for discipleship within the Children’s Ministry that works in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Cumming First United Methodist Church. Grow and develop the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team to set and accomplish the goals of the Ministry. Create an exciting weekly worship experience for children 4 years through 5th grade. Partner with existing ministries of the church to strengthen relationships and build bridges.

The candidate needs to meet the following qualification: Must be committed to Christ and possess a love for children and a willingness to connect with them and their families to facilitate their spiritual growth, Bachelor’s Degree required, 3 – 5 years experience in Children’s Ministry or Education: Lay or Clergy considered, Sunday through Thursday work week required with occasional extended duties over weekends, Experience / Exposure to Wesleyan Tradition Helpful, Must relate well to both children and adults, Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
