Job summary

Harmony Grover United Methodist Church in Lilburn, GA is seeking a part-time Director of Children Ministry to lead worship activities for children, plan religious education, recruit volunteers, and coordinate family programs.

You will schedule nursery and childcare, set curriculum scope for Children's church and Sunday School, manage social media for children's ministry, and organize community events to serve kids and families.

Qualifications

• proficient in Methodist theology and Christian Education reources
• an effective leader and communicator
• have an interest in and love for teaching children
• willingness to work with others
• safety screening: must complete a comprehensive criminal background check and fulfill required UMC Safe Sanctuary training before working with children

Responsibilities

• schedule nursery and childcare for the church
• determine curriculum scope and sequence for Children's church and Sunday School
• recruit, train, schedule and coordinate with volunteers
• deliver Sunday children's sermon weekly during worship and lead Preschool Chapel
• Plan and direct summer children's ministry programs
• administrative social media sites for children's ministry
• create advertisements (banners, fliers, emails, etc.) for regular programming and special events
• coordinate community mission activities with children and families to benefit the Little free Pantry and other charity inititiatives
• organize all special annual community events for children and families
• order all supplies for children's Sabbath, Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, Sunday School, Children's church and nursery
• attend staff meetings/worship planning
• assess the needs of children and families in the community
• suggest/implement new ideas and future opportunities
• set goals, evaluate performance, and make reports to Senior Pastor and SPRC
