Job Description

The Catering Services Director is responsible for planning and leading the entire catering operation across multiple units or in a large account. The Catering Services Director will oversee the catering team, plan, and execute catering orders and special events. Additionally, they will manage budgets and achieve financial goals for the department.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate total catering operations including booking events, supervising teams, developing, selecting, and costing menus, pricing, hiring, and departmental administration.
  2. Ensure all aspects of preparation, service, and cleanup for multiple catering operations are handled efficiently.
  3. Develop and implement catering solutions to meet customer needs.
  4. Maintain effective client and customer relationships.
  5. Create and execute an annual marketing plan for catering, including collateral, sales strategies, and budgets.
  6. Establish and enforce service and presentation standards, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  7. Implement new services to support business growth and client retention.
  8. Stay informed on current catering trends and advise clients, customers, and staff accordingly.
  9. Facilitate the delivery of food based on banquet event orders.
  10. Participate in sales, contract negotiations, and assist clients with planning events.
  11. Train and lead catering staff to uphold standards.
  12. Set and achieve sales, food, and labor targets.
  13. Manage the execution of catering events of various sizes, including staffing and management.
  14. Handle accounting functions, including reporting revenue, expenses, and receivables.
  15. Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational, and environmental policies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in catering or related field.
  • 1-3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in events and catering is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Availability for event-based hours.
  • Completion of Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.

This role may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
