Job description

Great opportunity to join a successful team seeking an experienced Catering Director for their busy property . Our ideal candidate has experience planning large conventions and special social events of 500+ attendees. If you have a deep passion for creating lasting impressions and unforgettable memories by providing guests with one-of-a-kind dining and event experiences, this is your perfect opportunity!

Director of Catering’s Responsibilities :

  • Be a leader and a role model to all staff members
  • Responsible for all strategies and every detail of the planning for events
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing, Banquets, and Operations teams, to ensure revenue is maximized and events are executed with top-notch service
  • Respond to all inquiries and requests for proposals promptly in 24 hrs.
  • Implement contractual clauses in event contracts, understanding group intricacies, and history. Ensure that deposit schedules, guest room, and event space release clauses, and all concessions are adhered to
  • Ensure department compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and programs
  • Lead team of Event Planners, encouraging their development and participation
  • Run BEO Meetings and attend hotel meetings
  • Be active and well-respected member of the community to represent the hotel in the industry with organizations and at events.

Director of Catering’s Requirements :

  • Have a professional, friendly, and helpful personality and be passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality with service, food & beverage
  • Minimum of 4 years of similar work experience in a director / senior catering sales rolewith high-volume events of 500+ attendees and plated dinners
  • Be a fantastic listener, collaborator, and detail-focused
  • Positivity and out-of-the-box thinking required
  • Background in executing BEOs for upscale and fine-dining events
  • Experience with guest room blocks
  • An expert in Catering & Events, natural salesperson, and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written
  • Flexible and willing to work avaried schedule including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidaysthat coincides with events
  • Knowledge of the area market is a plus
  • Proven experience exceeding expectations with high-end clientele, and large-scale events.
  • Well organized, solution-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective feedback, follow up, delegation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and create excellent relationships withclients and teams
  • Budgeting, analytical, and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, sales CRM, and hotel reservation PMS systems
  • Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant industry and education experience
