Job summary

Plimpton & Hills Corp Inc seeks a Director of Category Management & Supply Chain to own end-to-end economics of the product portfolio and optimize inventory across branches and the Hills Distribution platform.

Reporting to the President, the Director leads category strategy, replenishment, SIOP, and vendor programs, while building cross-functional relationships with manufacturers and field leadership to maximize gross margin dollars and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in purchasing, category management, merchandising or supply chain.
• Wholesale distribution experience and understanding of inventory economics.
• Demonstrated ownership of vendor negotiations and rebate program structures.
• Strong demand planning, replenishment methodology and multi-SKU management.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and BI/reporting tools.
• Willingness to spend real time in branches and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Own category and vendor strategy across HVAC, plumbing, PVF and related lines.
• Lead replenishment parameters by SKU, branch, and season to optimize service levels.
• Build and drive SIOP processes from demand to supply reviews and executive alignment.
• Manage inventory health: turns, GMROI, excess/obsolete, and return-to-vendor.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance and Field Leadership to drive cross-company leverage.
• Provide disciplined vendor management, pricing integrity and cost controls.
