Job summary

Job Summary:

Responsible for administration and Craft Professional skills assessments on projects, for administering Bechtel's Capabilities Assessment Program (CAP), and participating in the set up and maintenance of training facilities. May provide training to Craft Professional employees and provide input to Workforce Development programs and procedures. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:
  • Supervises project trainers and/or WFD administrator(s).
  • Ensures that the training and assessment programs are consistent with the Craft Assessment Program (CAP) guidelines and procedures.
  • Provides guidance to site Site Management for training to all levels of Craft Professionals, including apprentices, journeyman, foreman and general foreman.
  • Oversees/performing capability assessments via the CAP Program.
  • Performs NCCER administration of the craft training and certification program on projects, ensuring the company remains in strict compliance with NCCER regulations.
  • Responsible for project training facility layout, resource allocation, set-up and maintenance.
  • May participate in the selection of evaluators/trainers.
  • Coordinates and monitors classes, instructors, facilities, class times, participants (level) and instructor evaluations on each project.
  • Collects, assembles, and analyzes training data and provides reports to site and WFD management regarding the projects training activities.
  • Maintains data in relevant LR/WFD systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proven ability to define goals and deliverables and implement key programs on time and within budget.
  • Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, balance short and long-term priorities.
  • Must possess mastery of one or more craft discipline skill sets.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Prior Labor Relations Workforce Development/Training experience required.
  • Advanced understanding of NCCER or Union equivalent administration guidelines and certification program on projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of project training facility layout, resource allocation, set-up and maintenance.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Bechtel's Capability Assessment Program (CAP).
  • Performs assessments and oversees evaluators administering CAP.
