Job summary

HeartShare, Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Director of Capital Projects to lead capital improvement initiatives across agency properties. This full-time role focuses on managing scope, schedule, budget, and vendor coordination for renovations, MEP upgrades, and accessibility enhancements.

Responsibilities include ensuring ADA compliance, universal design, and resident safety, while coordinating with executives and funders. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field is required (preferred).
• PMP certification preferred; 5–7 years of capital projects experience.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities; frequent on‑site meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of capital improvement projects across agency properties.
• Develop multi-year capital plans and prepare scopes of work and related RFPs.
• Ensure accessibility and ADA compliance in improvements with universal design principles.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, change orders, and invoice processing; assist with reporting.
• Provide on‑site supervision, coordinate with architects/engineers, and report progress to leadership.
