Job summary

Ranken Technical College in St. Louis is seeking an experienced Director of Public Safety to oversee security and safety across campuses, supervise staff, manage risk, and lead emergency response efforts.

You will head a high-performing security team, develop safety policies, coordinate with law enforcement, and ensure timely incident reporting and compliance with campus safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in law enforcement or related discipline and experience managing six to ten security officers.
• Preferred:Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of campus security procedures.
• 3–5 years in law enforcement and corporate or campus security, with supervisory experience.
• Experience negotiating outcomes and communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security and safety of all Ranken locations.
• Schedule and supervise both Ranken shift supervisors and contract officers.
• Maintain surveillance equipment, alarms, and emergency communications; submit work orders as needed.
• Develop and enforce campus safety policies and procedures; train faculty, staff, and students on emergency procedures.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services; write incident reports within 24 hours.
