Job summary

California State University, San Bernardino's Santos Manuel Student Union is seeking a Director of Recreation and Wellness to provide vision and leadership for SRWC, Adventure Programs, Fitness, and events.

The role requires a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and 5+ years managing a recreation department, including wellness initiatives, budgeting, staffing, and risk management. San Bernardino campus offers active student engagement and community programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation, business, higher education or related field.
• Five+ years leading a comprehensive recreation department.
• Two+ years supervising recreation within a wellness model.
• Strong budgets, staffing and program development experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and evaluates all Recreation & Wellness programs for campus locations.
• Develops operating plans and budgets; manages personnel and resources.
• Hires, trains, and supervises staff and student workers.
• Develops revenue streams via sponsorships and partnerships.
• Oversees risk management, safety trainings, and compliance.
