Job summary

The Director of Camp Wise leads Camp Wise, a flagship Mandel JCC program in Beachwood, Ohio, with residence at Camp Wise (Chardon) during the summer. The role directs strategy, culture, and growth, reporting to the President & CEO and collaborating with the Camp Wise Committee and Mandel JCC Board.

You will recruit and develop leadership staff, drive enrollment and retention, ensure ACA safety standards, and foster community, alumni engagement, and donor partnerships while living on-site for the

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in overnight camping, youth development, education, recreation, nonprofit leadership, or related fields.
• Deep familiarity with ACA accreditation standards and overnight camping best practices.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience navigating periods of growth, change, or organizational transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-term vision, strategy, culture, and growth of Camp Wise.
• Partner with JCC leadership to contribute programmatic vision toward campus transformation.
• Drive enrollment growth, retention, and long-term sustainability.
• Oversee camp operations, safety, and performance.
• Lead integration of new facilities into seasonal programming.
• Ensure ACA standards, risk management, safety, and security compliance.
• Recruit, supervise, develop, and inspire leadership staff.
• Strengthen year-round and seasonal staff recruitment and retention strategies.
• Lead annual budgeting and business planning with the philanthropy team.
• Serve as a visible leader within Camp Wise and the broader Jewish community.
