Job description

Solar Eclipse New York is a rapidly growing design‑led accessories and lifestyle brand transforming everyday objects into collectible, expressive pieces. Our products are carried by leading retailers and cultural institutions globally, including Nordstrom, Anthropologie, MoMA Design Store and Le Bon Marché.

As we scale across wholesale, retail, e-commerce and international markets, we are hiring a Director of Business Systems to strengthen the systems, processes and cross‑functional workflows supporting our continued growth.

This is a senior, highly hands‑on role working across production, supply chain, wholesale, inventory, logistics and major company initiatives. We’re looking for someone who combines exceptional execution with a strong systems mindset — someone who can manage complex workflows while continuously finding better ways to run them.

A major focus will be using technology, AI and automation to improve visibility, reduce manual work and build scalable processes across the business.

About the Role

Solar Eclipse is growing quickly across products, retailers, markets and geographies. As that complexity increases, the systems behind the business need to become increasingly sophisticated.

You’ll work closely with leadership to translate operational priorities into scalable systems and processes, while helping manage complex day‑to‑day workflows across a rapidly growing global business.

This is not an IT role, nor is it purely managerial or advisory. We’re looking for someone who is strategic enough to identify how things could work better and hands‑on enough to implement those improvements.

You’ll work across teams, factories, logistics partners, warehouses and retailers to improve coordination, visibility and execution.

Production & Supply Chain

You’ll help manage the systems and workflows supporting our global production network, including:

  • Manage production timelines across global factories, from sampling and approvals through bulk production and delivery.
  • Maintain visibility across production status, deadlines, risks and priorities.
  • Work with factories and internal teams to resolve production issues and keep timelines on track.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners around freight, routing, customs and delivery.
  • Improve production tracking, reporting and communication systems.
  • Identify opportunities to make production and supply‑chain workflows more efficient and scalable.
Wholesale & Retail Systems

You’ll help ensure our growing wholesale business is supported by strong processes and accurate execution.

  • Manage purchase order tracking, ship windows, routing requirements and key retailer deadlines.
  • Maintain visibility across open orders, upcoming shipments and potential risks.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and warehouse partners to support accurate, on‑time fulfillment.
  • Manage retailer requirements and compliance processes.
  • Proactively identify issues that could result in delays, errors or chargebacks.
  • Build systems capable of supporting significantly greater wholesale volume.
Inventory & Planning

You’ll help develop increasingly sophisticated systems around inventory and production planning.

  • Maintain visibility across current inventory, incoming production, committed inventory and future requirements.
  • Coordinate production requirements with wholesale orders, e‑commerce demand, launches and seasonal forecasts.
  • Identify potential inventory shortages and excesses early.
  • Build better systems connecting sales information with production decisions.
  • Evaluate forecasting and planning tools, including AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Improve demand forecasting as more historical data becomes available.
Logistics & Fulfillment

You’ll work across factories, freight partners, warehouses and internal teams to help products move efficiently through the business.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics workflows.
  • Maintain visibility across freight, inbound shipments and delivery timelines.
  • Identify bottlenecks and resolve fulfillment and logistics issues.
  • Improve systems for tracking inventory from factories through warehouses to customers and retailers.
  • Build scalable processes supporting increasing order volume and international complexity.
Trade Shows, Pop-Ups & Retail Activations

Solar Eclipse participates in trade shows, retail activations and pop‑ups in the U.S. and internationally. You’ll help:

  • Manage operational timelines and logistics for activations.
  • Coordinate inventory movement, freight, vendors, staffing and on‑site requirements.
  • Build repeatable systems, timelines and checklists.
  • Improve lead capture, order processing and post‑show follow‑up.
  • Conduct post‑event reviews to improve future execution.
Business Systems & Process Improvement

A major part of this position is helping Solar Eclipse become easier to operate as it gets bigger.

You’ll:

  • Map and improve workflows across the business.
  • Identify bottlenecks, repetitive tasks and gaps in information.
  • Build systems that improve visibility, accountability and execution.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting that make important information easier to act upon.
  • Document critical processes and create scalable SOPs.
  • Evaluate and implement software and technology that meaningfully improves how we work.
  • Improve information flow between systems, teams and external partners.
  • Reduce manual work and operational errors.
  • Ensure new systems are successfully adopted across the business.
AI & Automation

We believe AI and automation should become increasingly embedded in how Solar Eclipse operates.

You’ll actively identify opportunities to:

  • Automate repetitive administrative workflows.
  • Improve production, inventory and operational reporting.
  • Create smarter dashboards and automated alerts around deadlines, inventory, production and fulfillment.
  • Improve forecasting and planning.
  • Improve data flow between platforms.
  • Reduce manual data entry and errors.
  • Experiment with emerging AI tools and identify where they can create meaningful business value.

You don’t need to be an engineer or developer. You do need to be technically curious, comfortable learning new tools and excited about redesigning inefficient processes.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideally, you have:

  • 5-8+ years of relevant experience within a consumer brand, retail, wholesale, production, supply chain or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong experience across production, supply chain, inventory, logistics and/or wholesale execution.
  • Experience working with major retailers or wholesale accounts.
  • Exceptional project‑management and organizational ability.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with operational data.
  • A demonstrated ability to improve processes rather than simply maintain them.
  • Experience implementing software, dashboards, automation or workflow improvements.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and how it can improve business processes.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a bias toward action.

Most importantly, you take ownership of your work. When you identify a problem, you don't simply flag it. You investigate why it's happening, develop a solution and work with the relevant people to implement it.

What Success Looks Like

In your first months, you’ll develop a deep understanding of how Solar Eclipse operates and identify the highest‑impact opportunities to improve our systems and workflows.

Over time, success will mean better visibility across production, inventory, wholesale and logistics; stronger processes and accountability; fewer operational errors; better forecasting; more effective use of technology and AI; and systems capable of supporting substantially greater order volume and complexity.

The goal is a company that becomes more efficient as it grows, rather than simply more complicated.

Why Solar Eclipse

Solar Eclipse is in a period of rapid expansion across products, retailers, markets and geographies.

We launch hundreds of new designs, work with major retailers and cultural institutions around the world, participate in international trade shows and retail activations and continually enter new categories and markets.

Rather than inheriting a large corporate infrastructure, you’ll have the opportunity to improve and build systems while the company is scaling and see the direct impact of your work.

You’ll work closely with leadership, have significant responsibility from day one and have the opportunity to expand your role as the company grows.
