Position Summary

The Director of Asset Management manages the existing portfolio, oversees a team of asset managers, and partners with stakeholders to mitigate operational and financial risks. The role supports Regional Asset Managers and Property Management Companies in Texas.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of asset managers in the Southeast region.
• Act as an Owner’s Representative to address property issues and maximize profitability.
• Maintain extensive contact with internal and external sources related to properties.
• Handle multiple properties through lease-up, construction, operations, and compliance periods.
• Enhance assets and improve financial results to increase revenue and value.
• Communicate effectively with partners, lenders, and internal departments.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and analyze financial data.
• Identify and address underperformance issues.
• Review partnership agreements, loan documents, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with Construction and Development departments on construction issues.
• Conduct physical inspections of properties.
• Participate in group visits and follow up on improvement plans.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years supervisory experience, with 5+ years at the regional property management level; knowledge of Section 42 (LIHTC).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Yardi/Real Page and MRI Developer Central is a plus.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills.
• Strong financial analysis skills and understanding of real estate accounting.
• Ability to interpret complex business documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and handle pressure.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
