Job summary

Wolverine Construction in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Senior Architecture leader to head the in-house Architecture team and drive the five-year vision across Industrial, Healthcare, and Retail markets. The role requires a licensed Michigan architect with 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing facilities and a deep understanding of PEMB, BIM/VDC workflows, and design-build delivery.

You will mentor designers and collaborate with BD to expand internal design usage.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of progressive architecture experience including leadership from concept through construction administration.
• Licensed Architect in Michigan is required.
• Significant experience designing manufacturing facilities (automation, high-tech production, cleanrooms, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate with owners' process engineers and operations teams on space programming, layouts, and production flow.
• Knowledge of PEMB and related building systems; design-build or integrated delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from concept through construction administration for core Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing projects.
• Serve as architect of record with authority to sign and seal permit drawings.
• Develop and mentor the internal BIM/VDC capability and align it with estimating and takeoffs.
• Grow local partnerships in Healthcare and Community & Cultural markets, and expand Multi-Unit and Restaurant & Retail design-build delivery.
• Sell architectural services internally, partnering with market leaders and BD teams to leverage in-house design across Wolverine.
