Job summary

FORTIS Resource Partners is seeking a hands-on Director of Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable for a multi-entity organization in Southern California. This role oversees AR and AP, develops scalable processes, controls, reporting, and team structures in a high-volume environment with construction/manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

You will lead AR/AP teams, optimize cash flow, and collaborate across Project Management, Estimating, and Finance to resolve issues and drive automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience in multi-entity environments.
• Experience in construction, heavy civil, or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong knowledge of billing, retention, lien requirements, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end AR and AP across a multi-entity organization.
• Develop and improve AR/AP processes, controls, and reporting standards.
• Establish AR metrics (DSO, aging) and AP metrics (DPO, on-time payments).
• Oversee AR collections and AP processing, coding, and vendor management.
• Drive automation and process improvements within ERP systems.
• Support month-end close, audits, and cash flow reporting.
