Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking an experienced Operations Director for the Bedford Center YMCA. This role leads the Aquatics Department and Youth & Family Programming, ensuring an exceptional member experience and high-quality programming.

Responsibilities include managing staff, budgets, and safety across indoor and outdoor facilities, while building community partnerships and delivering signature events. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and mission-driven.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Business, Nonprofit Management, Physical Education, or related field.
• 4+ years of leadership experience in aquatics, recreation, youth programming, or nonprofit operations.
• YMCA Lifeguard and/or Swim Instructor certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
• YMCA Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification a plus.
• YMCA Team Leader Certification preferred or ability to obtain during employment.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and other required certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Bedford Center YMCA's Aquatics Department and Youth & Family Programming.
• Oversee daily operations of indoor/outdoor facilities, including swim lessons, lifeguards, and events.
• Develop innovative youth and family programming to boost engagement and participation.
• Plan and evaluate signature family events (Fall Festival, Nerf Wars, Cookies with Santa, etc.).
• Develop operating plans to promote participation, engagement, and revenue growth.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate staff; promote a service-oriented culture.
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA standards and health/safety regulations.
• Build relationships with City of Bedford, schools, and community partners.
• Support the Annual Campaign through volunteer engagement and fundraising.
