Job summary

EY-Parthenon Growth Platforms seeks a Software Engineering Director for AI Tooling to design and scale modern software platforms and internal AI tools. You will translate strategy into architectural delivery, guiding multiple workstreams and mentoring senior engineers.

You will lead backend and fullstack work using Python, Java, Scala, and TypeScript, while shaping cloud-native architectures on AWS or GCP and ensuring security, reliability, and scalability in client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of professional engineering experience; or graduate degree with 3+ years.
• Senior software engineering, platform engineering, or technical leadership experience.
• Strong proficiency with APIs, distributed systems and cloud services.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI-enabled applications or tooling.
• Comfort in fast-paced, client-facing environments with evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale core software platforms integrating data, AI services, and user-facing apps.
• Lead development of AI-powered tools including copilots and domain-specific agents.
• Design and maintain robust service architectures (APIs, event-driven, batch/realtime pipelines).
• Establish engineering best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability and performance.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to productionize models and agents for real-world use.
• Mentor senior engineers and translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.
