Job summary

EY-Parthenon seeks a Software Engineering Director for AI Tooling to lead production-grade software platforms and AI-enabled tooling for Fortune 500 and growth-stage clients. You will drive architectural decisions, set standards, and collaborate with executives across multiple workstreams.

You’ll lead backend and full-stack development with Python, Java, Scala, and TypeScript, while managing cloud-native architectures on AWS or GCP and AI-ready application layers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of professional engineering experience; or a graduate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in senior software engineering, platform engineering, or technical leadership roles.
• Strong proficiency in APIs, distributed systems, and cloud services.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI-enabled applications or tooling into production environments.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, client-facing environments with evolving requirements.
• Willingness to travel and be in commuting distance to office locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of production-grade software systems and AI-enabled tooling for client engagements and internal platforms.
• Own architectural decisions, development standards, and technical direction across multiple workstreams.
• Architect, build, and scale core software platforms integrating data, AI services, and user-facing apps.
• Lead AI-powered tool development including copilots and domain-specific agents.
• Establish engineering best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and performance.
• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with Csuite executives to translate strategy into scalable solutions.
