Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineer to turn AI from pilots into production capability across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, engineering, and logistics. You will ship production‑ready AI solutions and ensure adoption within real operating environments.

The role is hands‑on (60–70% engineering) with a strong emphasis on change management, coaching the FDE team, and delivering measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, solution implementation, or digital transformation with a track record of shipping production code.
• Proficiency in Python and modern API and integration development on Azure or Google Cloud.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI, agents, ML, and workflow automation in production.
• Experience deploying enterprise technology directly with business users, including driving adoption.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers while remaining an active contributor.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills, translating between plant floor and engineering language.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions that run reliably in production.
• Integrate with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP) through APIs and data pipelines.
• Own prototype-to-production lifecycle: testing, validation, security, release, monitoring.
• Embed and diagnose work with plant leaders and quality teams to understand how work gets done.
• Lead adoption, design metrics, and track value post go-live.
• Build training materials, playbooks, and workshops for end users.
