Job summary

Doma Technology LLC is seeking a hands-on Director of Platform Engineering to own the infrastructure, DevOps, and AI-assisted tooling that power our product, software, and data teams. Report to the VP Engineering and influence architecture while staying hands-on with the code and incidents.

The role focuses on Azure, Kubernetes, and data infrastructure with a strong emphasis on AI-generated, secure, production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering.
• 3+ years managing engineers or engineering managers.
• Deep experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as code.
• Direct AI coding and infrastructure tools experience with accountable review of AI outputs.
• Experience owning secrets management and related tooling.
• Comfort operating databases and data warehouse infrastructure at scale.
• Hands-on track record: writing code, reviewing architecture, and resolving incidents.
• Strong communication skills for explaining tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own our cloud infrastructure (Azure) and Kubernetes environment, keeping it reliable, secure, and cost efficient.
• Lead AI-assisted engineering to design, build, and operate platform infrastructure with standards and guardrails for reliable AI-generated code and infrastructure.
• Drive infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices for safe, rapid shipping.
• Own secrets management and the DevOps tooling under the deployment pipeline.
• Maintain and evolve our database and data warehouse infrastructure.
• Build observability and reliability practices, improving developer experience across engineering.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and engineering managers while staying hands-on.
• Partner with Security and Corporate IT on platform-security handoffs.
