Job summary

Doma Technology is seeking a hands-on Director of Platform Engineering to own and evolve the infrastructure and DevOps foundation supporting our product, software, and data teams. This role reports to the VP Engineering and balances strategic direction with hands-on involvement.

You will lead Azure and Kubernetes, implement AI-assisted engineering, and drive CI/CD, GitOps, and secrets management while mentoring a team of engineers and engineering managers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering.
• 3+ years managing engineers or engineering managers.
• Deep experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency directing AI coding and infrastructure tools to deliver production systems; review and ensure quality, security, and correctness.

Responsibilities

• Own our cloud infrastructure (Azure) and Kubernetes environment, ensuring reliability, security and cost efficiency.
• Lead the team in using AI-assisted engineering to design, build, and operate platform infrastructure with standards, guardrails, and reviews.
• Drive infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices to enable safe and rapid shipping by engineering teams.
• Own secrets management and the DevOps tooling that underpins the deployment pipeline.
• Maintain and evolve our database and data warehouse infrastructure.
• Build observability and reliability practices and improve developer experience across engineering.
• Manage and mentor engineers and engineering managers, while staying hands-on enough to contribute directly.
• Partner with Security and Corporate IT on platform-security handoffs.
