Meta's Manufacturing Engineering & Operations (MEO) organization seeks a Director of AI Manufacturing Enablement to lead a team that identifies, prioritizes, and deploys AI/automation across MEO and adjacent partners. This founding leadership role defines the AI strategy for manufacturing and links Meta's AI capabilities to hardware production realities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience across manufacturing/operations and applied AI/ML/automation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments or leading complex operations with technology to improve productivity and quality of decision making.
• Understanding of manufacturing workflows—assembly, test, quality, supply chain—and where AI adds value.
• Experience building and leading technical teams that ship products/tools iteratively.
• Experience operating in ambiguity—defining the problem space, not just solving well-scoped problems.
• Experience in process transformation and organizational change management—driving adoption of new tools and ways of working across engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience in automation or deployment in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic workflow audits across MEO to identify high-value AI/automation opportunities.
• Develop and maintain an AI opportunity roadmap prioritized by impact, feasibility and alignment.
• Scout adjacent organizations for tools and frameworks adaptable to manufacturing use cases.
• Stay current on internal AI platform capabilities and translate them into manufacturing applications.
• Build and ship AI-powered tools for AI-driven defect classification, DFx review, predictive yield modeling, and intelligent test sequencing.
• Define success metrics and own end-to-end lifecycle from problem definition to deployment and iteration.
• Collaborate with AI/ML infrastructure teams to leverage internal platforms and with Production Test Engineering on AI-enabled test optimization.
• Partner with contract manufacturers on AI readiness and data infrastructure at factory sites.
• Recruit, hire, and develop a team of applied AI/ML engineers and manufacturing technologists.
• Foster a culture of rapid prototyping, user-centric design, and measurable impact.
• Establish build-vs-buy-vs-adapt frameworks for AI tools.
