BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper and Brooklyn Lower Schools seek a Director of Admissions to lead campus admissions, enrollment, and marketing in partnership with the Head of School. This role supports two campuses and drives the full admissions funnel from inquiry through day one.

You will shape annual enrollment plans, manage a team, and collaborate with Central Marketing to ensure branding and outreach align with school goals. Strong storytelling and relationship-building are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ relevant sales experience.
  • 2-3 years admissions experience at top secondary or post-secondary institution.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with prospective families and assess needs to help decide enrollment.
  • Articulate the school’s philosophy and features to families; tell compelling stories.
  • Lead annual strategic enrollment plans with school leadership and Central team.
  • Provide direction to enrollment team to ensure high-quality experiences from inquiry to first day.
  • Coordinate campus tours with Head of School and teachers for optimal family engagement.
  • Plan and execute admissions events including information sessions, open houses and auditions.
  • Oversee marketing and communications initiatives for admissions, including newsletters and blogs.
  • Develop partnerships with feeder schools and external organizations (Parents League, ISAAGNY, independent education consultants).
  • Design and implement outreach strategies for parent engagement and enrollment growth.
  • Mobilize current parents to drive inquiries and referrals.
  • Analyze funnel metrics to meet enrollment goals and address gaps.
  • Collaborate with Central Marketing to maintain brand consistency and PR opportunities.
  • Develop and mentor Admissions team to achieve yearly targets.
  • Assist families through the admissions process in compliance with policies and regulations.

BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper and Brooklyn Lower Schools, grades PK-12, are seeking candidates for a Director of Admissions.

SUMMARY:

The Director of Admissionsis responsible forleading and managing all aspects of the campus level admissions, and enrollment and marketing activities in partnership with the Head of School, ensuring all tours, events, applicationprocessesand partnerships are conducted using approved Spring Education Group admissions practices.

This position will support two campuses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts interviews with prospective student families and evaluates prospective student’s needs, interests and qualifications while providing clear and concise information to help prospective families make an informed decision to attend or not attend the school.
  • Communicates the philosophy and unique features of the school to prospective families; is an excellent storyteller.
  • Leads the development of annual strategic enrollment plans in collaboration with school leadership, and Central team leadership.
  • Providesexecution capabilities, direction, and leadership to all individual contributors in the enrollment and admissions process to ensureeach and everyprospective family has the highest quality experience from inquiry through the first day of school.
  • Leads and Coordinates campus tours to ensure the Head of School, plus key teachers, will engage with the prospective family foran optimaltour experience.
  • Directs the planning and execution of high-quality admissions events, including family meetings, campus tours, and entrance exam sessions and playdates, Information Sessions, Open Houses, and other admissions-related events; expected to host these events with school leadership.
  • Oversees prospective family marketing and communications initiatives from the Admissions team including newsletters, content campaigns, blogs, social media, local PR and earned media, thought leadership opportunities from school leadership, and other communications.
  • Cultivates and leads strategic partnerships with feeder schools while serving as the primary relationship manager for key external organizations, including Parents League, ISAAGNY, and independent education consultants.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing outreach strategy throughidentifyinghigh-value opportunities for prospective parent engagement, including sponsorships, events, community campaigns, etc.
  • Mobilizes the current parent community through brand ambassadors and other programs to drive new student inquiries and support enrollment growth through organic referrals.
  • Drives annual enrollment goals by analyzing and translating funnel analytics into actionable strategies, proactivelyidentifyingand resolving funnel trends and gaps, to ensure enrollment targets are met.
  • Collaborates closely with Central Marketing and Communications to ensure brand consistency,findsways to elevate the brand experience, andidentifiestargeted local marketing and public relations opportunities.
  • Leads and develops an Admissions team, driving campus-wide admissions success through collaborative leadership, training, and mentorship to directteam’sefforts to achieve annual enrollment goals.
  • Assistsprospective student families through the admissions processin accordance withall applicable federal and state regulations, schoolpoliciesand procedures, and in compliance with all accrediting standards and requirements.
  • ManagesCRM system input, upkeep, and follow through for all campusenrollment.
  • Presents information in a factual and ethical mannerregardingthe school’s programs and tuition.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Education & Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degreerequired; degree in Marketing or Communications preferred.
  • 4+ relevant sales experience.
  • 2-3 yearsadmissionsexperience at top secondary or post-secondary institution.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
