Director of Accounting, Non-Profit

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting, Non-Profits to oversee all financial aspects of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial procedures, budgeting, financial reporting and client relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations
  • Manage treasury functions including cash flow management and investment strategies
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against budget
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management
  • Supervise accounting staff and provide leadership in day-to-day operations for non-profit accounting staff
  • Manage non-profit audits and related requests
  • Manage non-profit contracts with agencies (i.e. social service work)
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong knowledge of fiscal management, corporate finance, and public accounting principles
  • Experience with treasury management and strategic planning
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with Social service agencies (Medi-Cal billing, Behavioral Wellness work, Family service counseling, case management, etc.)
