UAB Medicine is seeking a seasoned financial leader to direct accounting activities within the General Finance department at the Daniel Building in Birmingham, AL. The role oversees preparation of corporate financial statements, monitoring general ledger entries, and ensuring regulatory compliance while driving cost-saving initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting or related field, at least six years of related experience, and leadership experience.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of six years of related experience; four years of leadership preferred.
• CPA licensure or state-specific accountant licensure preferred.

Aufgaben

• Directs accounting activities and resources.
• Supervises preparation of corporate financial statements, reports and audits and reviews for accuracy.
• Monitors development of data and entries to general ledger, accounts payable and payroll.
• Performs detailed analysis of financial information. Analyzes projections and details variances. Assists management with understanding and analyzing financial reports and developing cost savings measures.
• Coordinates preparation and submission of quarterly reporting. Ensures compliance with internal financial requirements as well as regulatory requirements.
• Develops, implements and maintains general accounting systems and controls ensuring best practice standards across the institution and in line with corporate guidance.
