Job summary

HiAccounting in Honolulu seeks a Director of Accounting. This senior, client-facing role oversees onboarding, implementations, and client services, reporting to the Managing Director & President and coordinating with tax leadership.

The position requires leading implementations and client service teams, maximizing platforms, and driving client efficiencies. You will manage budgets, develop workflows, and ensure adherence to GAAP while mentoring staff and collaborating with sister companies as

Qualifications

• Experience leading an accounting services team or equivalent in client-facing roles.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to apply it to diverse client needs.
• Proven ability to onboard, implement, and manage accounting solutions for multiple clients.
• Demonstrated budgeting, financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration with tax and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver client service with responsiveness, professionalism, and accuracy.
• Lead onboarding, implementation, and project management for client accounting needs.
• Prepare proposals for accounting and payroll services; support business development.
• Oversee GAAP-based accounting practices across platforms and clients.
• Coordinate with tax leadership to strategize staffing, processes, and growth.
