Marine Credit Union is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function, strengthen financial controls, and influence strategic growth. You will report to the CFO and drive timely financial reporting across the organization and its subsidiaries.

The role requires a strategic leader with a strong accounting foundation, excellent communication, and a track record of improving processes and building high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting and leadership experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive results, and implement process improvements.

Responsabilités

• Lead all accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
• Produce accurate financial statements and evaluate accounting data.
• Manage the annual external financial audit process.
• Oversee monthly financial close activities and quarterly Call Report preparation.
• Develop, enhance, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Provide technical accounting guidance related to GAAP, regulatory matters, and organizational initiatives.
• Support merger and acquisition activities, including accounting conversions and financial analysis.
• Supervise federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
• Partner with leaders across the organization to achieve financial objectives and improve processes.
• Build, coach, mentoring, and develop a high-performing accounting team through succession planning and professional development.
