Job summary

Brewer Morris is partnering with a leading healthcare services organization to hire a Senior Director of Accounting in Florida. The role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements, leading a team across a complex environment.

Tampa area preferred with as-needed travel to Tampa, FL. You will collaborate with executives, ensure GAAP compliance, manage external reporting, and drive initiatives to improve efficiency and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience leading accounting and financial reporting in large or complex organizations (healthcare experience required).
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting principles and internal controls.
• Proven leadership in managing teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Track record of improving accounting processes and reporting quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounting operations including close, GL oversight, and financial reporting.
• Partner with finance and operations leadership to enhance reporting accuracy and strategic insight.
• Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and data integrity.
• Drive process automation and efficiency across the accounting function.

About The Opportunity

• Drive process improvement, automation, and efficiency initiatives across the accounting function.
• Support audit activities and maintain strong internal control and compliance practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team focused on operational excellence.

What They're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive relevant experience leading accounting and financial reporting functions within large or complex organizations (healthcare related, required)
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Track record of improving accounting processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
• Oracle ERP system experience (Oracle Fusion, a plus) but Oracle in general ideal
• Healthcare industry experience (services, provider, managed care, value based)

Additional Skills/Experience Preferred

• Prior experience with a top 10 level accounting firm
