Job summary

Ringside Talent is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function from close to external reporting. Based in Cleveland, OH in a hybrid role, you will partner with the CFO and senior leadership to shape policy, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate financial disclosures.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership, and a strong US GAAP mastery; CPA strongly preferred and ability to

Responsibilities

• Lead audits readiness and maintain a strong control environment.
• Mentor and build a high-performing accounting team.
• Partner with CFO and senior leadership on reporting and forecasting.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and systems.

We are looking for a Director of Accounting to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a technically strong accounting executive to guide the accounting function and serve as a trusted advisor across the business, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of accounting operations, including close, consolidation, and external reporting
• Act as the company's technical accounting authority on policy interpretation and complex transactions
• Advise business and finance leaders on contract review, revenue treatment, and disclosure implications
• Assess the accounting and process impact of strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and system changes
• Maintain a strong control environment and lead readiness for internal and external audits
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes and supporting systems
• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team
• Work with the CFO and executive team on reporting, forecasting, and planning
• Lead special projects and analyses as business needs arise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of an accounting team
• Strong technical understanding of US GAAP
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage several projects at once
• Strong organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills
