Job summary

Drury University seeks an experienced Academic Advising Director to lead the Office of Academic Advising, coordinate services for first-year and transfer students, and drive retention initiatives. You will partner with Registrar, Admissions, and faculty to ensure seamless registration and high-quality advising.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least two years of administrative or teaching experience in a college environment, along with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related field and two years administrative or teaching experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; maintain accuracy in degree requirements and policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication; professional interaction with students, faculty and staff.
• Experience with advising processes and university systems such as Canvas and Slate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Office of Academic Advising; review procedures and develop new programs.
• Supervise Advising staff and recruit student workers as needed.
• Provide training to faculty advisors and communicate curriculum updates.
• Collaborate with Registrar, Admissions, and other offices to register first-year and transfer students.
• Support retention initiatives and coordinate advising notes and record-keeping processes.
