Job Overview:

The Director of Nurse Recruitment is a key leader within the Talent Acquisition and Innovation Center of Expertise (CoE) for RWJBarnabas Health, responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of all recruitment strategies for registered nurses and ancillary nursing positions within the enterprise. The Director is a strategic partner to nursing leadership to drive and execute on talent acquisition strategies and initiatives supportive of full-cycle nurse recruitment. The Director will lead, support, empower and supervise nurse recruitment teams responsible for identifying, sourcing and hiring high-quality nurse professionals at all levels. The Director will partner with key business stakeholders to understand business and talent priorities and develop strategies for recruitment activities to drive a strong pipeline of highly qualified and diverse candidates. The Director will improve recruitment transparency, business partnership and informed decision-making through implementation and reliance on effective and timely talent analytics.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in business, human resources management, or relevant field of study.
  • Appropriate and comprehensive experience of 5+ years or more in talent acquisition, workforce strategy, and change management.
  • Requires knowledge of workforce development strategies (recruitment, development and retention) as normally demonstrated in progressive responsible experience.
  • Experience in full-cycle nursing recruitment, pipeline, and brand strategies. Experience in large, complex, fast-paced environments managing technology, metrics, and process change efforts.
  • Ability to influence, lead with respect and compassion.
  • Strong planning, communication, organizational, and time management skills are necessary.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing, data-driven teams.
  • Proven leadership experience and track record of motivating and engaging staff and key senior leader stakeholders.
  • Experience with applicant tracking, CRM, HRIS, and/or customer tracking databases to manage data and candidate relationships.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Reflects and models core behaviors aligned with RWJBH values and leads a team accountable to the same values. Frames and translates the mission, vision and values of RWJBH into everyday work.

Preferred:

  • Master s Degree preferred.
  • Prior nursing experience or clinical experience preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and lead a highly motivated nurse recruitment team,collaborating with nursing leadership to develop short-term and long-term talent acquisition strategies that ensure the RWJBarnabas Health nursing division is an employer of choice and competitive in the market and industry.
  • Develop and implement innovative, efficient and effective strategies for key divisions of talent acquisition (attraction, sourcing, selection assessment, candidate navigation), including but not limited to, standardization of processes and the leveraging of available technology and automation.
  • Design, implement, and execute full-cycle, proactive recruitment strategies that include a strong candidate pipeline of highly qualified and diverse talent through relationships with local, regional and national schools/universities, professional nursing organizations and community programs.
  • Drive team and individual team accountability as it relates to recruitment strategies that directly support and align with the needs of the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and direction for the nurse recruitment team.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and functional expert to nursing leadership as it relates to talent acquisition, workforce trends, and partnership from a workforce development perspective to drive talent acquisition and retention.
  • Build and execute on improvement strategies enhancing overall recruitment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Evaluate candidate experience and provide tactics for improvement.
  • Partner and collaborate with nursing leadership, nursing finance, site HR Leaders, and other key stakeholders to prioritize efforts based on current and future business needs.
  • Set standards for a high performing, collaborative, and diverse talent acquisition team that is capable to perform in a high-paced environment.
  • Recruit, assess, mentor, and develop team members, while consistently elevating the expertise of the team to deliver excellence. Create and sustain a recruitment team driven by data and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the talent acquisition teams consistently execute the defined process through effective training opportunities and performance measurement.
  • Support the VP of Talent Acquisition and Innovation on budgetary accountability and operational excellence.
  • Pursue knowledge of industry trends, benchmarks, and opportunities to further advance Talent Acquisition and Innovation aligned with RWJBarnabas Health s strategic direction.
  • Work in partnership with nursing leadership and the communications and marketing team to develop and implement a recruitment presence on multiple platforms demonstrating a nurse brand identity
  • Develop content and facilitate training for the recruitment team, hiring managers, and associated teams on processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Support RFP initiatives related to recruitment applications and technology.
