Job summary

TerraPower LLC is a nuclear technology company seeking a Director of Insurance and Enterprise Risk Management to proactively manage TerraPower’s insurance programs and risk governance. The role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Legal, and requires coordinating with finance, engineering, and EHS to align risk management with TerraPower’s strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will oversee corporate and project-specific insurance, evaluate risk transfer options, and lead enterprise risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or risk-management-related field.
• 10+ years of insurance-related experience, with at least 3 years as a corporate risk manager.
• Experience in nuclear energy, nuclear pharmacy, construction, utilities, or insurance brokerage.

Responsibilities

• Manage TerraPower’s corporate and project-specific lines of insurance, including property, casualty, liability, and project-specific placements.
• Partner with finance to manage surety program, bonding capacity and indemnity obligations.
• Serve as SME on US and international nuclear liability frameworks and licensing requirements (e.g., 10 CFR references).
• Collaborate with insurance broker to develop placement strategies, negotiate terms, and manage claims.
• Work with engineering and EHS to implement loss control and assess total cost of risk.
