Job summary

ContinuServe Talent Acquisition & Organizational Development Services seeks a Director of Accounting to oversee full-cycle accounting for nonprofit clients, including grant management and audit preparation. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance, and present financials to client leadership in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, grants experience, and the ability to work with executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to support organizational objectives.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to interact professionally with C-level executives and senior leadership.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Industry experience in health and human services or grant management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for nonprofit clients.
• Analyze budgets, cash flow, and financial statements to identify improvements.
• Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive organizational and grant budgets.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports to clients.
• Deliver financial presentations to client leadership.
• Provide insights based on key financial metrics and trends.
• Ensure compliance with funding regulations and reporting requirements.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks for clients.
• Lead annual audit preparation and client funding audits.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders and advise on engagements.
• Partner with client CFO on engagement matters.
• Oversee team deliverables.
• Mentor and develop direct reports.
• Review performance and provide feedback.
• Engage with the client’s community and mission.
