Job summary

Tallgrass seeks a Director, NERC CIP Compliance to establish and lead the company’s NERC CIP program, owning governance, controls, evidence management, and audit readiness across Cyber Security, IT, OT, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance.

The role serves as SME for NERC CIP requirements and ensures a defensible, repeatable compliance posture while coordinating with auditors and stakeholders to drive remediation and continuous improvement in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading NERC CIP programs in power generation environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NERC CIP standards, compliance lifecycle, and audit expectations.
• Experience coordinating compliance across IT, OT, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the end-to-end NERC CIP compliance program and interpret applicable CIP standards.
• Develop and manage the CIP compliance calendar, with timely reviews, testing, and evidence collection.
• Serve as primary contact for CIP matters across multiple teams (Cyber Security, IT, OT, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Compliance).
• Define and maintain compliance processes, controls, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate internal reviews, track remediation, and report on gaps and corrective actions.
