Job summary

NRG Energy's Regulatory Compliance team seeks a senior professional to own the NERC CIP program within the Legal Department. You will oversee governance, testing, evidence, and corrective actions to maintain audit readiness and align with CIP standards.

You will interpret standards, coordinate with auditors and regulators, draft policies, manage voting on CIP matters, and collaborate across OT, IT, and Plant operations to strengthen compliance posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, business administration, or related field.
• 8–10 years of direct work experience in regulatory compliance, audit, or cyber security in electric utility/IPP sectors.
• Proven CIP program experience and audit preparation.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear concepts for stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the NERC CIP program governance and ensure timely evidence collection and audit readiness.
• Serve as primary liaison with auditors/regulators on CIP matters.
• Interpret CIP standards and assess business implications of new/revised standards; coordinate reviews with stakeholders.
