Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in multiple U.S. locations seeks a Director Mission Assurance 2 to lead the Quality and Mission Assurance organization for the Weapons Systems Division.

This executive role can be located at Northridge, CA; Mesa, AZ; Plymouth, MN; Elkton, MD; or Rocket Center, WV. The role requires strong leadership and communication to guide mission assurance in a dynamic engineering environment. The selected candidate will define program specs, oversee risk management and supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 10+ years in aerospace, manufacturing, quality, or program management.
• Active US Security Clearance (Secret or higher).
• Experience leading large, cross-functional teams in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Preferred: MS or MBA in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure program success.
• Ensure quality, risk management, safety, reliability across programs and suppliers.
• Drive on-time delivery of high-quality products meeting contractual requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement using lean, six-sigma, and best practices across sites.
• Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with mission assurance programs and policies.
• Provide guidance on regulatory and agency guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Foster an inclusive, motivated work culture and develop talent.
• Support development phases by ensuring engineering products/processes meet requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations for audits and inspections.
• Oversee factory accountability and foreign object elimination practices.
• Review trend metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Standardize root-cause/corrective action efforts across suppliers and sites.
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain to ensure quality of procured materials and services.
